Dear W.I.N.O.S.™  Buddies,

W.I.N.O.S.™ (Women In Need of Sanity) is all about cooking, eating, laughing, enjoying wine, friends, family and most of all having fun!  Our goal is to offer cookbooks, apparel and accessories with a sense of humor.  We are a company with high standards and a sense of purpose.  To the greatest extent possible, we buy and make our products in the US.  If we buy elsewhere, we seek and source products from companies that share our commitment to socially and environmentally responsible business practices. Our values include giving back. A portion of the proceeds of my first two books, “Cooking With Wine” and “Cooking With Wine and Chocolate,” are dedicated toward the prevention of breast cancer.  My third cookbook, “MAN Your Grill, Cooking and Grilling With Beer”, dedicates a portion of the proceeds to the prevention of heart disease.  In the future, each book will be associated with a different charity. We W.I.N.O.S.™ want to make a difference!

It all started a few years ago when I was having another W.I.N.O.S.™ MOMENT.  After raising 4 kids, a few dogs and puppies, 15 moves, working in both the corporate and consulting world, being married to a husband who travels the globe, loss of both my parents and then sending my babies off to college and a few other character building exercises, I was stuck home alone and very quickly entering the state of sub-mania!  I wanted and NEEDED some SANITY in my life. (I just happened to be drinking a glass of wine during this soul searching.)  I always loved to cook for friends and family and added wine to many recipes.  I visualized SANITY as diving into a wine glass at the end of EVERY day and W.I.N.O.S.™ was born!

Being blond and over fifty, I knew I needed a team.  I was fortunate to meet an awesome, young graphic designer who was in her senior year of college.  She translated my chicken scratch and sick mind into pictures. Then I hired a gem to handle the financial end of the business and found a fabulous artist.  We became TEAM W.I.N.O.S.™!!!.  (Please see our Contact Us page.) This little idea spread to more books, napkins, koozies, coffee, apparel and the rest is history.
